Happy Birthday to ME!!

I am officially 24 now. It's crazy going from 23 to 24....ok not really, no difference at all. I had a relaxing day. My house was nice and clean, I surprised Brent by cleaning the backyard while he was out shopping (he's been doing so much work out there that I thought I'd help out). He got babysitters and took me out for the night to the desert. It was fun! He packed up the truck and we went off-roading to the perfect spot he had picked out. In a Valley surrounded by tall tall mountains with lights from cities on either side. We then watch a movie on his lap top and ate dinner. Oh ya, he had the air mattress and a couple sleeping bags in the bed of the truck. Then he gave me some great black boots that Im way excited about! And the best part was driving back. We left the mattress in and the sleeping bags in the bed of the truck and took turns driving home while the other rode the mattress fun. Not as bouncy as you would think. The mattress absorbed a lot of the bumps. We had lots of fun. Thanks Brent for a fun birthday night!! The nest day went into the valley for my cousins reception and Camille and I were surprised with all sorts of fun presents from family!! We were spoiled! THANKS everyone for making this birthday so great! LOVE YOU!

Bundled up ready for the ride home :)

Do you see our red truck in there?

Porter is showing off my boots! Silly boy!

Growing up

My little Porter is sure growing up! For the past, oh I don't know 2 weeks I have become "mom" and Brent has become "dad". It's like he, all of the sudden, he grew out of "mamma" or "mommy"and "Daddy" stage. Now it's "MOM...I want this" or "Dad look at this." You wouldn't think those few words would be that big a deal but its like he moved from baby to child in no time at all! Don't get me wrong I love the growing up, but when did it happen...how? It goes from putting clues together from a few words to full on sentences like: "What did you say dad?" Everyone always says that your kids grow up so quick, but I never realized how quick! In fact the second child seems to fly by even faster! Mason is already opening doors (by the handle) and folding his arms for prayer! So cute!

Its so fun to see their personalities shine already. Things they like and dislike. Porter has loved cars and I don't think that love will end any time soon. Most children sleep with teddy bears or stuffed animals. Not Porter he must have his car or truck of the day in bed with him. We came home from dinner with Grandma and Grandpa and our wonderful babysiter asked "What's a trukntar?..he didn't want to go to sleep without it but I don't know what it is." We had a good laugh, We explained he likes to sleep with a truck and or car. Now she knows :). It's funny how it's hard to understand kids unless they're your own. They all have their own dialect that is impossible to understand. I love being the one that understands mine. It's like I'm the key to the puzzle and I love that connection with them!
