My little photographer

Watch OUT Nikaela you've got some competition...I mean look at these amazing shots...
Very impressive, I know

Porter is constantly telling me to take a picture of the cute things he's doing (he knows his mommy well) . He always wants a turn with the camera when I'm done. Do we have a future photographer? Who knows :) I'm sure we'll go through several more potential careers before he really decides what he wants to do. It's fun to see him grow up.

Renaissance Festival!

HAHA ok this is from like March?? IDK! My sister got some 2 for 1 renaissance tickets so Brent and I went with her and Heidi. It was fun? (yes that is a question mark) I say it like that because it was a fun thing to hang out with Jen, Heidi and Hubby, however I don't know if they just totally mock and over exaggerate the time period but it was all very crud humor and everything was hanging out. (you know what I mean) There was a group of women that sang beautiful and looking at all the cool stuff was fun too. Mixed feelings I guess. Here are some pictures....
backpack buddies :)

Jen, Me and Heidi strut'n our stuff...

BIG BOY!

Mason is getting so big and grown up. Out of the blue the other day he signed "all done" when he was done with dinner. I was ecstatic! He has been quite stubborn when it comes to talking or signing. It was adorable. Also he picks up a lot more than I think he does (as do all children!). When Porter is upset and needs to just relax we send him or take him to his happy place (aka bedroom) till he is calm and shows us his smiley face (pointer fingers on cheeks and a big smile). Well a couple of days ago Porter needed to go to his room and wasn't too happy about it so I went and helped him go in there while he was screaming. Once I had closed the door and turned around I saw Mason right behind me with his pointer fingers on his cheeks showing me his smiley face. He knew exactly what Porter needed to do to get out of there. Today I tried the happy place with Mason and it took a little time but he eventually showed me his happy face and got to leave the room with mommy and much happier than when he had gone in...thank goodness. Porter was really cute trying to get him out of going back in his room again and again telling me, "wait mommy, he's happy...he has happy face" while trying to get Mason to do it.

Last night it was just me and Porter and Mason for bedtime. Unfortunately, daddy was sick, but it gave us some fun time together. They were big boys and cleaned up their room (as they do every night before going to bed), yes Mason helped clean up and then mess up and then clean up, usually Legos, but he CAN be a good helper! They also got to use mommy as a jungle jim and wrestle. Mason's getting big enough they can play and wrestle together without him totally hating it. They rolled around and played really well together and when M had had enough I butt in to keep everyone happy. Brent and I are always so excited to see them playing together, we really hope they become the best of friends! For now they are my BIG little boys......

Confused and Loved!

This all started when Porter was just a wee lad...you know the belly button, aka beep beep stage. So here we are learning body parts, eyes, nose, mouth, knees and toes. Even singing "head shoulders, knees and toes..." and we come to something new. What is this? Is it an owee? Is it more "beep beeps"? No, they are nipples. As of recently, however, he thinks every bump is a nipple. He got bug bites on his feet and came to show me, "mommy, my nipples on my feet hurt". A bit confused at first, but didn't take long to realize what he was talking about.

Yesterday at the dinner table we were sitting next to each other and I put my feet on his seat and (not that I should let the whole world know I have this) he saw the wart on my knee and said "mommy is that your nipple?"
I just laughed. He then looked at me and, with a puzzled face, asked "Why are you laughing mamma?"
"Oh nothing",
"mommy don't say that....why are you laughing?"

So I explained that its not a nipple. Needless to say I did not get a laugh out of him. I loved the "mommy don't say that...why are you laughing?" There was rerun when I laughed at Mason's cheeks full of food. He won't take a brush off answer. I love this little man more and more. There may be poop smeered all over the house, blue marker in his hair, games strewn around the family room and tears from being too rough with little brother (yes, all in one day) but I sure love him! He is so forgiving and loves being good. How can one not feel loved or needed when her little boys yells "mommy, mommy" at night with a bad dream and then after he has fallen asleep again wakes up just enough to say "mommy I love you" and then off to snoring again. Or when he gets hurt all he wants is mommy! My little blue eyed boy is such a sweetheart and I love him!

Where oh Where will we be?

This is such an exciting time in our lives! Brent will be graduating VERY SOON!! YEAH!!! He's worked so hard and done a lot of make-up work with his accident that happened a year ago on the 19th. I can't believe it's been that long. Well anyway, he's been applying all over and so far has had 2nd interviews at a few different places both here and in California. It'll be sad to leave this wonderful ward, neighborhood and (if we go out of state) our families. Iv'e grown somewhat accustom to the small town open spaces! I am just now (as of a couple months ago) taking advantage hiking CG mountain on a regular basis. I love taking the kids out for a quick quad ride or enjoying a nice long one with Brent. Our favorite babysitter is right next door and is almost ALWAYS available. It's also so very exciting though not knowing where until weeks before, and to embark on a new adventure! So far where ever we have lived has been a favorite as long as we are together. New places to see, people to meet, beauty to admire and fun to be had. The only question is "where oh where will that place be?".......You'll know as SOON as I do!
