Visiting My Love

With Brent being gone for so long I got to take a trip with my mother and father in-law to go visit him! Mike (FIL) owns some airplanes and offered to fly us up. Brent happens to be working near Durango which is where they honeymooned to in January so it was a fun trip full of memories for them. We got to ride his little 6 seater and it only took 2 hours to get there. It was such a beautiful flight! The way back we detoured to see the Meteor Crater near Winslow. What a sight!!

Brent did some research and found this AMAZING place to hike! It was absolutely beautiful!
What a view!!....Love you hon!
Here we are in Beautiful Durango! We had fun walking around downtown
We found a really yummy diner we just loved to eat and visit with the owner who was cooking right in front of us

California Trip part 3

We had the absolutely BEST time with our family in California. Although after being there for almost 2 weeks our time was through and we came home. Not before we had plenty more fun though! Camille let me go clothes shopping without any kids so I was in heaven! We went to the Mormon Battalion Museum that was just a blast! It was such a different museum and so interactive! We had a beautiful picnic at the park! I can't believe they live there!! It is GORGEOUS!! I would LOVE to live there!

Look at this park!! All this play equipment and our boys touched it for maybe 5 minutes. They were busy hiking the mountain next to it. They had so much fun climbing, hiking and seeing how high they could get. Later on they spent some time on the basketball court. It was about 66 degrees and beautiful! What a lovely picnic!

The boys climbed onto the wagon outside the museum to take a ride
We got to pan for gold! Porter was amazing at finding gold (fools gold, pyrite) and even got to keep 2 of the pieces he found
Mason found a well to pump water, what a fun way to get all wet!
In the museum the boys each got to carry something that the real men from the Mormon Battalion Caries. Not enough luggage for such a long time if you ask me. ;)

San Diego Part 2

They have some really fun play areas we made sure to take advantage of yesterday as well. With boys I've learned its really important to keep busy and get as much energy out everyday for a good nights sleep. So much energy is filled in these little bodies, it's amazing!!

My phone is really dying so the picture quality is horrible but still taking them just the same. So we're still having fun in Cali! I know...CRAZY! The apartment complex has some really fun stuff we've used lately. The other day we used their fun Theater. We rented the movie Tangled and had the theater all to ourselves, just the 7 of us. What a fun way to break up the day! Today we got to go to the kiddie pool! I was 1 1/2 feet deep at the deepest part so the kids just went at it while we relaxed...well kindof. Conner has to be followed around still, so I got to relax.
The other thing I've really enjoyed is my flowers from the boys. They always pick flowers for me but I think there are so many more flowers and in so many different beautiful colors that I've been getting flowers about 5 times a day. Sweet Sweet little boys. They are being really good gentleman too and holding the doors for us wherever we go. I think they are turning out to be quite the boys :)

San Diego Trip Part 1

While the Daddy's away the others will play...

Since my best friend/ sister moved to San Diego I've been hoping to get over there to hang out with her! We've had a BLAST so far!!! We've gone to a swap meet, the beach, the Science Center at Balboa Park, made bread, gone shopping (thanks to Justin, we got to go without kids), gone out for ice cream played and played with cousins! We've had such a great time!!

We spent 4 hours at the beach and could have spent all day! The boys love getting to run around, use their imagination and playing in the sand, water (and fire pit)! We love wearing the boys out so they go to bed quickly and we can go shopping!

Building towers at the science center :) This is the tower Mason and mommy made, this tower represents team work

OUCH!

I was inside and Porter started screaming (you know the scream that he's just got hurt...bad!) I ran out and actually saw a scorpion run away. Brent calmly immediately called Poison control and they said to wash it, give him some tylenol and if it doesn't get better within 15-20 mins then take him in. Sure enough he was in great pain for that long and then had some tingling, numbing, throat hurt a little and water tasted funny for the rest of the day but the "Pain"ful part was over. Thank goodness. Since he's reacted so bad to normal bug bites I was afraid this might really affect him like an allergic reaction to a bee sting. Fortunetly, he was ok. They called and checked on him 6 more times that day. Thank goodness for Poison Control and Great daddy's!

Mason on the other hand ran inside and was just worried sick about Porter, trying to help where he could. The next day I heard another scream (same scream that says "EMERGENCY come quick!!) Porter was yelling that Mason was bleeding and Mason was screaming in pain. He fell and cut his lip pretty good. He was tough though and daddy again came to the rescue again by distracting him with some home videos that calmed him down instantly!

I love that man! Brent does things I just don't think to do. The boys are so sweet! Both instances the other was so worried about his brother. I love the care a love those two little boys have for each other. They don't always get along but for the most part they love playing and being together! What a blessing! Today Brent and I watched the two of them wrestling for a while. Porter had the upper hand since he's bigger but you could tell he was being careful not to be too rough. When Mason was done Porter would encourage him with positive reinforcement to keep him playing with him! He told him he is so good at this game. Mason loved it and kept telling us how good he was at this game!

April Fools Day

Upside down table and chairs, backwards clothes and loving his "cupcake"

Mason LOVED his "cupcake"!

About half way through the day Camille reminded me that it was April Fools Day. She had some really cute ideas for dinner so of course I stole them! ;) Hehehe! I was pretty sneaky so the boys wouldn't see before it was done. Which isn't as easy as it sounds. Usually they are in the kitchen helping me make every meal. I explained what fun this day was to the kids and we totally got into it. The boys were cleaning up backwards, had a great time picking pillows up backwards and carefully and silly putting them on the couch backwards! It was just too funny! I told them they could play a joke on daddy and Porter ate this up!! He practiced what to say and had a hard time remembering what to say at the end, instead of "just kidding" to say "April Fools!" Right when Daddy walked in the door Porter ran over and told him "Daddy I pooped my pants" Brent looked at him disappointed and Ported yelled "APRIL FOOLS!!"! Brent laughed and laughed! So of course Mason told the same joke and they told it over and over. We turned the house upside down, quite literally. The boys started to really getting into it and getting carried away! HA! I talked them into just turning a few things upside down. The table and chairs were some of them. Then time for dinner.
For the main course we had;
-chocolate cupcakes with blue frosting (meatloaf with blue mashed potatoes on top),
-Ice cream (mashed potatoes) and
-Carmel syrup (Gravy disguised in the caramel syrup bottle).
Then for dessert we had;
Fish sticks (strips on brownies covered in peanut butter and crushed corn flakes) and
Carrots and corn (star bursts shaped into vegetables) YUM YUM!!

Bread

I've taken a few bread classes lately and have been having a fun time experimenting! I've made white bread, wheat bread, Spinach and feta bread, Cinnamon bread (which I then made French toast out of) and this dinner braid the other night which has spaghetti, feta cheese, spinach, and meatball pieces I made the other night. YUM! Since bread is a favorite staple around here I figure I better start making some good healthy stuff.

Zoo with Mosers

We thought we better get to the Zoo before it gets unbearably hot! We invited my cousin and her kids to come with us. We had such a great time! Some of our favorite things there were the elephants, the monkeys (3 of them ran right in front of us as we were leaving the monkey village), the splash pad/caves (that I didn't get any pictures of :( ), the Giraffe tower, the Koala's that are there visiting from the San Diego Zoo and of course all the insects, spiders and reptiles!! Porter and Mason each got a map of the Zoo and loved getting to tell us where to go. Porter especially had fun picking out spots he wanted to visit and could identify where we had gone. Mason saw some Beatles and said "mommy are they eating each other?" I just laughed and said "kindof....they're actually loving each other"
The weather was great! And we had great company! What a fun day

Can't beat a day with our Cousins :)

It had been way too long since we had played with our cousins so we decided... it was time! Superstition Springs Mall has a kids club every Thursday so we started off there. On our way in we even got to give 5 to the Kids Club Mascot!! Way Cool! We got there just before 10 and had fun singing and dancing for an hour. Porter was especially fun to watch as he got up with the rest of the kids and did the silly dances and exercised! After that it was time for some yummy lunch. We then got to ride the carousel there as part of a free thing they do for kids club! Porter picked a really cool eagle and Mason wanted to go to the 2nd floor where we found a horse to ride! We didn't want to get off of there, of course, but it was time. We then all went over to the play area in the mall and had a great time running around. Porter found a friend to "wrestle with" which made me a little nervous. He kept telling me "It's ok mom, he's really tough." But I asked him to pick something else to play and he was really good and obedient. He yelled " Hey mom, look I'm not wrestling. I asked him if he wanted to play something else and he said freeze tag." So away they went to play freeze tag. Mason is so silly and goes around climbing and jumping off everything. I'm so used to it it doesn't really phase me anymore but it usually makes people nervous. After a good hour or so there we fit in a few mins of shopping at JCPenny's. Then we headed over to uncle Dustin's firehouse. That was really fun! We got to ride in the firetruck! Practice picking up REALLY heavy weights, hear the loud horn and some other fun stuff! He even gave us some cool stickers, pencil and firetruck eraser, which quickly became the favorite toys for the next few days! What a FUN day we had! Thanks to our fun cousins!

Waiting for our turn on the carousel
After Uncle Dustin picked this up with one arm the kids tried to do it. I didn't catch porter picking it up, but he did! haha
We got to ride the firetruck! Cool!
Porter riding the Eagle on the Carousel. Very fitting since he will hopefully be going to Eagle College Prep or Eagle Harmony College Prep for Kindergarten!
