Errands...an adventure!

Just one example of what fun boys are on a daily basis! I find my "short" errand to the grocery store, the library, target becoming an adventure where ever it may be! It's not uncommon to turn around and see both boys one the floor with some kind of gun they've made out of a pen or a stick or anything really defending the ranks from enemies ahead. I may find them hiding from an attack between towels. As we walk out to the car they are sneaking carefully behind any cart, column or bench looking out for enemies that may be ahead. I can sit and watch them for minutes before they realize I'm even in their make believe world. If they aren't defending the universe they may just be playing Clark Kent for the afternoon before they turn into superman. I love these little boys! Life is an adventure with them and so much more fun!

Backyard

So after that last post I went out and took a picture of our backyard to show what a fantastic job Brent has done! I love it!! More importantly our boys LOVE IT!! We have a sand box that's really more than just a sand box. It's probably 8feet deep, and 3x6feet! They play in there at least everyday. We just got a terrific playset that is so much fun and a very popular part of the yard. We have, of course, a large garden, a fire place that we have used several times and GRASS! His artistic ability really shows through in landscaping our last two backyards. It's not just things in our backyard, it's beautiful. The placement of everything really looks perfect. Even the flagstone on the side of our yard where the garbage cans are is beautiful! One of my favorite things! Job well done hon!

GARDEN!!!

We have panted our garden!! We went to Lowes a couple weeks ago for Family Home Evening and got everything we needed and wanted for our garden! Brent made a BEAUTIFUL area for it! Our whole back yard is beautiful because of him! It was just dirt when we moved in but of course it is a beautiful, fun place to enjoy now. He designed it to have a good size garden and everything! Isn't he amazing!?! SO... We have been using the garden area as our compost for a while and it was finally ready (or we hope it is) to plant some delicious things! I'm SO EXCITED to watch it grow!! After we saw how helpful the boys were we got them their own set of gloves to help whenever we need it. Its so nice to have something like this to do as family. I remember growing up and having a garden and eating carrots right out of it. I hope this gives our boys some good memories and healthy bodies!

Here's what happened in our pre-garden/compost. Apparently we threw a honey dew seed into the compost and it overtook the whole thing. Didn't even water it. So we're hoping we have just as much luck when we actually plant and water the seeds! Wish us luck!

So far so good! It's SO exciting when the little green leafs start to peak through the dirt. Porter, especially, is always so excited every morning to go out and see how our little garden is going.

An Oregon Wedding

Lynette (one of my little sister's) got married in the Portland Oregon Temple! Brent stayed home and had a boys weekend while I went up and enjoyed a weekend with some of my family for the wedding. It was absolutely beautiful up there. I got a few preview pictures from Justin of the trip but haven't got any of the ones that were actually of the wedding. I'll have to post those later. We had a great time eating out, playing games, shopping, driving around this beautiful place! It was great to spend time together! Thanks to a great friend I didn't freeze. She let me borrow a nice wool jacket, I don't even own clothes warm enough to be there. lol
To be Continued...

5 boys under 5

The beginning of Febuary we had the Stevens boys over for a few days. Camille and Justin move to San Diego in March so they had to go find somewhere to live. We had a party!! We made valentines, the boys were all so creative in their own way! I LOVED IT!! Wish I took pictures! We all went to the science center! Brent was able to meet us during his lunch break for about an hour and I had all 5 of them the other 4 hours alone. What a feat! :) They were actually so well behaved! As you can see in the picture they all sat down good for lunch, and I could just feel the eye's on us. 5boys under the age of 5 with one mom. Of course when you have that many one is bound to have to go to the bathroom in the middle of lunch. We had to pack everything up, go potty, come back unload lunch again and finish eating. We went to a presentation there and I had people coming up to me after telling me how smart and well behaved my kids were. I can't take all the credit, obviously, 3 of them have great parents who taught them how to behave. Anyway we had fun! We also got to go to our city parade where they got more candy than they did on halloween! Next year I think I'll make a sign that says "NO Candy Please!" haha. We were at the end of the parade and those boys just looked too cute!

School School and more preschool

I get the opportunity to teach my boys for preschool 2 times a month. We've been doing a preschool co-op for almost 2 years and we have loved it. We started it mostly to to save money but we get so much more than money. I love getting to see the progress my boys are making!! I'm amazed at what they are doing now compared to 2 years ago. Porter is amazing! We started out working on colors and really fun activities and have moved to writing letters and reading words! WOW! I don't think I really would have seen the progress had I not been teaching it. And hey, I can handle teaching preschool. Mason amazesas well. He is such an artist. He's really good at tracing, coloring and especially cutting things out. He loves those scissors. And he is good at telling or asking me what he's cutting out before he does it. So here are a few preschool activities we've done:

Here our preschool days when we were working on the letter combination "TR"

We made a TRain

Here's the boys working on the Christmas TRees we did in December

And we HAD to TRy green eggs after reading Green Eggs and Ham

A New Year

I love a new year! It makes me feel like I can start over. Its also the day before my birthday, what a better way to start the year than being one year wiser and getting spoiled? Brent Spoiled me Saturday with a new shirt, a Mp3 player, a necklace and other gifts and a of course my favorite Olive garden and Shopping. What a great guy! Sunday was actually our (Camille's and mine) birthday so we invited the Stevens over for dinner and had a fun night haning out. I made my favorite pop cake and we exchanged presents! I love sharing my birthday day with her! She is my best friend and such an example to me. I just hope sharing our birthday somehow makes me more like her. ;)

Since I don't have any pictures of the fun weekend I thought I'de share something else about me with you. Kindof embarrassing so DON'T laugh! So sunday's I'm always trying to mix and match new things and trying to be more creative with what I already have. I often forget that I really DO have plenty of clothes and should try to use what I have already. SOOO..I started having Brent or Porter take pictures of my ouitfit so I can remember and eventually choose from the pictures what I want to wear that day.

FIrst here's my attempt at being Sydney on one of my favorite blogs called "The Daybook". This is taken with my phone and by my 4 year old though so keep that in mind ;)

And here's a few of my sunday outfits (the only ones I had access to right now) Silly, lame, whatever. We'll try it.
