Happy Birthday Porter

Porter is 5 years old! Wow! Old enough for kindergarten! I can't believe it! We had a fun day. We hung out with Awesome Aunt Jene, went to a park, went bike riding and at the end of the day went to a drive-in movie. which was WAY COOL! Dad was gone for Porter's birthday but came home a few days later so we saved the cake and big present for when he came back. Porter got a cool day/hiking backpack from MamaZelle a spiderman school backpack and matching lunchbox and a neat remote control car from mom and dad (that dad wants to steal..... the remote control car, not spiderman luchbox ;) )
Porter is growing up to be such a sweet caring boy. He'll see things that need to be done and do it with out being asked (like daddy had warm feet and warms them). I often hear him offering to share something with Mason or help him feel better somehow.
Porter is responsible and really likes doing things right. He is the only one I trust, besides myself, to put the books away in the playroom. Each book has a spot and it looks beautiful when he's done.
Porter is so creative! As I'm sitting here he has figured how to attach buckets and other cars to his new remote control car using a bungee cord and pulls it. He loves inventing things like that. Often when he's riding his old bike there are several things being pulled behind him and in ways that are so creative!
He loves learning! Whether we are going to the science center or working on writing the ABCs he is always anxious and excited to learn what things are and how they work. Brent is really good at encouraging this and so when dad get's home he is so excited to show or tell him what he's learned that day.
He and Mason have become best friends and love doing everything together. They love using teamwork to accomplish a task.

Happy Birthday Birthday boy! At the Drive-in
Drive-in (I was sure he'd fall asleep since it was so late, but it was just too much fun!)

We went to Tempe Town Market Place to do a little birthday shopping and the boys played in the splash pad and rode their bikes. A security guard came over and told them they couldn't ride they're bikes in the shopping area. When we left and were out of the area he specified we told the boys they were ok to ride their bikes now but but decided to keep walking his bike and follow the rules. Riding his bike is probably his favorite thing to do right now so for him to choose to be obedient to the rules over riding his bike made me a proud mamma.
